The middle part

I rang the doorbell for the third time. It's getting really cold here. Guess I deserved it for not bringing an umbrella with me. Now, here I am. Standing at the corridor outside her house soaking wet.

The door opened and I saw her looking at me. She eyed me from up to down, examining me.

"You're wet," she said. I forced a smile.

She made me took off my shoes before letting me in.

"Put it there," she said while pointing to the shoe rack to my right.

I followed her. As I entered the living room, I saw her talking to a man, could be in his 50s. Not sure about the exact age though because I had the feeling that the man was actually older than he looked. He was sitting on a cream coloured armchair as she stood beside him. Both of them looked towards me, noticing that I was there.

"Hi," I said nervously.

"Dad, this is my friend," she said.

"Nice to meet you," he said. He turned to her and said, "Why don't you ask your friend to take a shower first. He can wear Daniel's clothes for the time being."

She nodded and left the room. I smiled at her dad. He smiled back.

A few minutes later, she came and handed me a towel. She lead me towards a bedroom, presumed to be Daniel's bedroom as it looked like a guy's bedroom. But then again, it could be hers too as she was not really what you call an average girl. But then again, even the most tomboyish girl would not paint her room blue.

"Just leave your clothes on the floor. I'll get them later," she said.

I smiled at her. She looked at me suspiciously.

"Go take a shower," she said and left.

In the bathroom, I studied the shelf. There were two different shampoo bottles, one big conditioner bottle specifically for frizzy hair (hers obviously), liquid facial cleanser for men, a facial bar cleanser (must be hers), two pots of cream (hers), two toothbrushes, one tube of toothpaste, moisturiser, shower gels and a razor.

As I showered, I heard a knock on the door.

"Dude, just want to say that your clothes are on the bed."

It was her.

"Okay," I replied.

I got out after that and saw some neatly folded clothes on the bed. I put them on. They fit perfectly.

I got out of Daniel's room after that. She went up to me and said, "Not bad."

"Where's your dad?" I asked.

"In the bathroom," she replied as she sat on the sofa. She asked me to sit with her. I did.

"You're lucky that my dad's here," she said. "Because if I'm alone, you'd be stuck outside shivering and getting a really bad cold," she added.

"By the way, I told you not to get yourself in trouble with him," she scolded me.

She took out a first aid kit and took out some cotton wools and an antiseptic cream. She proceeded to wipe the cream on the cut on my lips. And then, she wiped the grazes on my elbow with another cotton wool.

Then, she got up and made her way to the kitchen and came back with an ice pack. She gave it to me and said, "This should... you know... relieve that black eye thing, whatever it is."

I press the ice pack gently at my black eye. It felt soothing.

"You should've seen yourself earlier. You looked like a total mess," she said.

"I had to explain to my dad what happened to you and why you're here the first place," she added. And then, she went on about how she explained to her dad that I got into a fight with Jason because he kept harassing her. She told me that her dad was okay with me, it was just that I was soaking wet with a black eye and a cut on my lip.

"You don't really have to do that," she said. Her voice was soft this time instead of the usual snarky, monotone, straight to the point voice that she always have.

I looked at her. She stared down to the floor. "But, I want to do it. I just can't stand seeing you worrying about every little things. I mean, it's bad enough that you have anxiety problems," I replied.

She flashed her usual sarcastic smile that she always did whenever she felt like punching someone for making a lame joke at her. I could see her cringing behind that smile. It was weird that I was so intrigued at this girl who basically only a girl physically and anatomically. Personality-wise? Err... she was not really a tomboy or a girly girl. She was just a weird person. If it was not for her curves and long hair, I would have been confused figuring out her gender. She was so weird that I think even weird people would find her weird.

She shoved me. I giggled. I saw her smiling, as in a happy kind of smile. Not that I never see her smile before. I saw her smile all the time, it was just that it was different this time. The bad part was that her hair was covering it as she turned away.

I placed the part of the hair that was covering her face behind her ear. She was still smiling, only this time I saw her cheek was slightly rosy. She was blushing!

"You look really pretty when you smile. As in, really smile," I said.

She lowered her head.

"You don't have to be shy. It's just me," I said.

She slowly lifted her head and I saw still smiling (and blushing). We stared into each other for a while. Our heads moved closer and closer towards each other.

To be continued... (I hope)

This is actually some sort of an experiment that I'm going through right now. I don't really have a plot worked out yet but as you can see from this story, a guy got into a fight and got beaten up really bad because he was defending his friend. This idea basically just came in my mind and I began typing this and ultimately I decided to call this 'the middle part' be cause this story is actually a middle part of something that I hope will materialise.

If you guys have any idea on how the beginning or the ending should be, feel free to comment aite ;)

You Are Hip

You are definitely not a hipster, but you are often on the cutting edge of trends.

You are proud of your taste. You like what you like, and you never try to show off how obscure or ironic you are.

You are into good food, good music, and good fashion. You are well known for your discoveries.

You don't mind if the things you love eventually become mainstream. You may be hip, but you don't have a complex about it!

Bittersweet Melody

This is a poem/lyric (maybe) that I wrote back in 2007. This is one of my favourite poems I've ever written as it somehow relates to my life.

Please stop now
I wanna slow dance
Slow dancing with you
Please stop now
You’re moving too fast
Too fast for me to follow you

Why are you in such a rush?
Why do you think about it too much?
We’ve got the time in this world
Just take it easy and follow this song

Cause its bittersweet melody
The melody is bittersweet
Just like a love story
With a sad ending

My bittersweet melody
How can this be?
Just you and me
Fall in love… fall in love
With each other

Stop for once
I’m getting tired
Of catching up with you
Wait for me
I’m coming with you
I’m coming with you right now

Why you’re the one that I see?
Why isn’t it someone else?
I can’t fall in love with you
Because I’m afraid I might lose a friend

This bittersweet melody
Of couples and tragedy
The story ends
When the hero dies

My bittersweet melody
A story about you and me
The story ends
When you’re not with me here

My bittersweet melody
Of you and me
Are we meant to be
In love
With each other.

I don't speak French but....

I was showering earlier today and this one came up in my mind:

Don't worry about the clouds in the sky
And the rain that will ruin your parade

Il ya toujour un beau soleil
There's always be a beautiful sun
Shining in the sky

Don't worry whether the moon and the stars will align tonight
As long as you're here with me.

My top 10 favourite love songs

I'm feeling extra jiwang tonight, which is rare because I rarely show my jiwang-ness.

In case some of you don't know, jiwang is a Malay slang for sentimental.

Since I'm feeling jiwang/sentimental, I'm going to list down my top 10 favourite love songs (Youtube videos included) that I would like to include in our (me and my future husband who currently remains a mystery for me to solve) love song CD mix.

#10 Irony by Seriously

I've been a fan of Seriously since 2009. With their catchy beat and light hearted lyrics, what's not to like about this track?

#9 Baby It's Fact by Hellogoodbye

Baby, it's fact. All of it's true. They way black is black and blue which is blue. My love is true, it's a matter of fact. Oh and you love me too. It's as simple as that. Baby, our love is true.

#8 Tonight I Know by Chester See

This song describes how I feel every time I have a crush/fall in love with someone, except for the 'Tonight I Know' part.

#7 Valentine by Kina Grannis

To be honest, Valentine's Day is non-existent in my calendar but this sing is just so sweet :)

#6 I Won't Give Up Until You're Safe and Sound by Ryan Narciso

This is a mash up of Jason Mraz's I Won't Give Up and Taylor Swift's Safe and Sound. They actually go together.

#5 In Your Arms by Kina Grannis

#4 A Short Little Song About Love by Nice Peter

This is a short and sweet song about love.

#3 All My Love by Cameron Mitchell

This is an original song by Cameron Mitchell from the Glee Project. What I like about this song is that it makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

#2 This is a Way by David Choi

#1 You're a Gift by Dante Give Me Motion

I can listen to this song for a million times and can still melt. Seriously.

Ramadhan Review Special: Arranged

Synopsis

Two young women — one an Orthodox Jew, the other Muslim — meet and become friends as first-year teachers at a public school in Brooklyn. Over the course of the year they learn they share much in common, not least of which is that they are both going through arranged marriages.

This film is actually based on a true story of an Orthodox Jewish woman named Yuta Silverman who is also an executive producer of this film.

The film started out in the library of a public school where first year teachers had an ice breaking session. Nasira Khalidi, a Muslim of Syrian descent was up first. Followed by an Orthodox Jew Rochel (pronounced: Ro-Hel) Mashenberg. At first, they didn't talk to each other. Their friendship began when some students began to make some prejudicial remarks towards them. Nasira was teaching the class while Rochel was there to assist a blind student in that class as Rochel specialized in special children education and they were called to Principal Jacoby's office because of that. Another thing that strengthen their friendship is that both of them are going through the process of arranged marriage hence the title). Rochel went through a process called sadkhan which involves an arranged date set up by the matchmaker while Nasira went through the usual family coming to her house to meet her family. What I like about this move is that they portray Nasira's family as non-judgmental and not oppressive. Contrary to what's been reported by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and whatnots, when it comes to arranged marriage, both Nasira's parents did not force her to enter into arranged marriage. They actually want what's best for Nasira and took into account of Nasira's personal opinion. And, when Nasira finally found a match, they gave their blessings seeing how happy Nasira is. Meanwhile, Rochel was struggling in meeting a match of her own. Basically, she was pressured by her family to get married quickly (reminds you guys of something right?) in order to avoid diminished prospects of her sister Naomi.

On another note, this film also criticizes the liberalists and the secularists. For example, Principal Jacoby who is a secular Jew felt that it was her job to modernize both Nasira and Rochel which I think is unnecessary. In some way, I felt that Jacoby was disrespectful of both of their culture and try to force her beliefs to them.

In my opinion, this film is worth a watch. It is a feel good romantic comedy film with a hint of culture. Yes, you guys get to learn some culture, especially when it comes to Orthodox Jewish culture. This film also portrays that people can be modern and keep up with the current time while adhering to their faiths at the same time.

This film shows how individual relationships can transcend age-old divisions and shows that in the search for love, true friends know best.

Rating: 4.5/5

Now, on to the trailer:

Starring: Zoe Lister-Jones, Francis Benhamou, Doris Belack and Mimi Lieber.

[Spotlight] Lindsey Stirling

Meet Lindsey Stirling everybody!

Or Hip Hop Violinist as they call her on America's Got Talent!!!!

I'm so excited for this Spotlight entry now. Why? Because this is the first spotlight entry ever that features a girl I realized that I've always write spotlights on dudes. Not that I don't like it, it's just I feel that it's about time I feature a girl

Well, on to Lindsey then.

She is a violinist, composer, performance artist, dancer and musician from Utah. She was born in Orange County, California but stayed in Utah. She was first interested in classical music records played by her father when she was 5 years old. Due to that, she requested the opportunity to learn and play the violin.

She was classically trained through private lessons for 16 years. She joined a rock band called Stomp on Melvin with four friends. As part of her experience with Stomp on Melvin, she wrote a solo violin song. Her performance helped her to win both title of Arizona's Jr. Miss in 2005 and the talent category of the National Jr. Miss Pageant.

Shortly after her performance in America's Got in 2010 (which she was a quarter finalist), cinematographer Devin Graham contacted her through Facebook to make a music video together. She replied a few months later and they scheduled to shoot her first music video for her song, Spontaneous Me. The video gave a major boost to Lindsey's popularity and she began to make music videos for her Youtube channel. Both Lindsey and Devin began dating after the release of her second music video, Transcendence. They've been together ever since and frequently collaborated with each other in making Youtube videos.

She always experimented in combining violin with hip-hop, dubstep and shuffling. She also has collaborated with other Youtubers such as Peter Hollens, Megan Nicole, Eppic, Jake Bruene and Frank Sacramone.

If you guys are into classical music with a modern twist, Lindsey Stirling is for you. And, if you like cute quirky girls doing what they do best, then she is definitely for you as well. I was interested in her when she collaborated with Megan Nicole to cover Starships by Nicki Minaj and I was hooked on her ever since. I just couldn't get enough of her talent and quirkiness (and the hair). She's not like those boring type of classical musicians who would just stand or sit down while playing their instruments. She actually dances and experiments in different genres to keep people entertained.

Here are some of her videos:

Talk You Down

I really like this song :)
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/the_script/talk_you_down.html ]

The Script : Talk You Down

Songwriters: O'DONOGHUE, DANIEL JOHN / SHEEHAN, MARK ANTHONY

I can feel the colour running
As it's fading from my face
Try to speak but nothings coming
Nothing I could say to make you stay
Grabbed your suitcase called a taxi
It's 3am now where you gonna go?
Gonna stay with friends in London
And that's all I get to know

Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't' be that far
So I'm driving in my car
Where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is relationship suicide

Cos if you go, I go...

Taking shortcuts through the alleys
While your racing through my mind
Cops can chase but they wont catch me
Not before I get to speak my mind
If there's still time

Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't be that far
So I'm driving in my car
Where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can talk you down

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is Relationship suicide

Cos if you go, I go...
Cos if you go, I go...
Cos if you go, I go...
Cos if you go, I go...

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head

Just a cigarette gone
No you couldn't be that far
So I'm driving in my car
Where I hope you are
Maybe I can talk you down
Maybe I can turn around

We're standing on a tiny ledge
Before this goes over the edge
Gonna use my heart and not my head
And try to open up your eyes
This is Relationship suicide

My Blogging History

I first started to blog in the end of 2001 at Teen Open Diary (that website is closed right now, visit Open Diary) under the name Jessica Alba. However, I forgot all about that and made a new account under the name Padme Adrianna. In 2003, Xanga was in the rage among my firends so I made a Xanga account under 2 names: Padme Adrianna and Frankie Muniz74 (I had a huge crush on Frankie Muniz at that time). I deleted my Padme Adrianna Xanga because I prefer my Frankie Muniz74 blog. It became my most updated blog until the year 2004 when I discovered LiveJournal. I made an LJ account and it became my main blog ever since. Actually I made a Blogger account in 2006 as a roleplay blog. I played as Archie Johnson from CSI and I made some blogvels (blog novels) and deleted that account due to writer's block, plus I want to create a new account. Hence, Doo Joon-I-Tis was born. Taa-daa!

My lecturer once told me....

If someone insults/degrades Islam, please don't get too emotional.

Kalau orang kutuk/hina Islam, jangan cepat melatah.

Instead, just calmly and diplomatically explain to them of their misconceptions.

For example:
You told me that you don't like war but you have to support it cause your brother's in it.
You know how stupid that sounds.
Well, if your brother fell into the sewer, are you going to stand and say, "Hell yeah! I support this sewer. He can die but he has to stay."

Lagi kau rage, lagi banyak lah modal yang diorang dapat. That actually gives them reasons to insult Islam more.

What I'm trying to say: Advise, don't fight. With advising, you can be sarcastic while you're at it.

Budaya print screen (kau nak mengeji ke nak menyedarkan? part 2)

Hi, this is not Diyana blogging. This is Jason, her friend. Basically, this post is bound to offend (that's why she summoned me instead). It was this: she feels that she's too nice to post angry post on Blogger (but she has nooo problems whatsoever posting them on LJ). Apparently, she has a new phobia next to ophidiophobia (snakes) and guyphobia (boys) she has a new one: printscreenophobia. Printscreenphobia is refusal to post status, blogs or tweets fearing that some irresponsible idiots would print screen it thinking it's controversial and share it to the public hoping it will go viral.

She seemed to take it pretty hard. Sekejap post, sekejap delete. Sekejap post, sekejap delete. Kalau publish pun, private kan. Bukan dia tak percaya kawan dia, cuma dia tak nak orang print screen barang dia tanpa izin. Bagi dia, itu invasion of privacy.

If anybody else want to see their post, they damn well go to her profile and view it. Dia tak expect kau print screen dan tunjuk kat dunia. You're just being redundant and she will suffer profile view loss (dia tak kisah pun siapa view profile dia, let alone berapa views dia dapat everyday).

2. Tapi, apa yang orang cakap tu tak patut lah!

You might be right but that doesn't justify your actions. If what he/she said was offensive/rude like you said and you really want to menyedarkan, kau patut drag diorang somewhere private and slow talk ngan diorang. Kalau nak guna keganasan pun, kau tampar muka tu cukuplah! Tu baru menyedarkan.

3. Tapi, orang lain kena ambik iktibar dari perkara ni!

Hahaha!!!!!! Hampir nak pecah perut aku gelak dengar statement ni. Kau cuba tengok komen diorang. Cuba tengok hate page dan wall post diorang. Kalau ada Twitter, try tengok dan baca. Kebanyakan komen pun bukannya baik sangat. Lagi teruk adalah. Mintak doa laknat lah, ugut bunuh/sembelih lah, ini lah itu lah. Menyedarkan ke? Nak bagi nasihat? Berhikmah ke tu? Tak! Mengeji tu adalah. Honey, tak tau ke kalau kau mengeji memang ke laut lah orang tu? #truestory

Bila orang tu mintak maaf, kau pertikaikan lah, kutuk lah. Kau nak diorang buat apa supaya kau tak kutuk diorang lagi? Bunuh diri? That doesn't sound so bad. Maybe they should kill themselves so you guys will stop harassing them. They don't deserve to be harassed by you guys! Your actions are just disgusting! You should be ashamed of yourself. You guys are cowards, okay. Cowards! If you really want to set them straight, you could've been upfront and told them straight. But nooooo!!!! You guys decided to print screen it for all to see. Don't you guys realize that you are also jeopardizing their safety (and sanity)? With all those doa laknat wishes and death threats can really drive someone up the wall.

Diyana tu pun satu. Coward jugak. Bab marah-memarahi kat Blogger ni, dia terus panggil aku. Yelah, aku tau aku selalu kutuk2 dan maki2 dia. Tapi, kalau aku yang buat camtu kat dia, memang dia akan fire balik. Entah kenapa dia tak boleh fire balik kat korang. I also don't know.

PS: Diyana pesan that the label 'malay' refers to language, not race.

Alhamdulillah.......

Feeling: Grateful
Listening to: Missing Piece by David Choi

Alhamdulillah. I made it. I mean, we made it. I caused a drama when I absentmindedly typed in my old student ID instead of my IC. I tweeted to my friend, Mior about it. He told me to appeal. Then, when I want to recheck my results, I saw the instruction said to type in my IC. D'oh!!!! Once I typed in my IC, what do you know? I made it!!! Told Mior about it. He jokingly called me attention seeker. Dude, it's an honest mistake. He made it to LLB as well. Yay!

Welcome to LLB. Goodbye colours, hoodies, jeans and t-shirts. Hello black and white, punch card, early mornings, late nights, over piling work and... hell.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

This. Is how my seniors looked like when they found out my friends and I made it to LLB. Err.... at least that's how I imagine how they would look like. This include the cute innocent looking ones.

Just kidding!!!!! But seriously... we're still buddies right guys?

Aww, come on. Look at him. We're buddies. Right? Meow meow?

Anyway, I would like to say to all of my friends who made it to LLB:

WE MADE IT!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!!

New layout (?)

So, I just installed a new layout. All the details and credits are at the sidebar. Feel free to visit them.

This layout took me 4 hours to get it right. Not the layout making part. That part is easy. You just open any graphic program like Corel Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop, create a new file, add a new layer, draw a shape (preferably a square or rectangle), adjust the shape here and there (not available for Photoshop though), add some cool graphics and voila! Layout is ready.

The hard part was to code it to this blog. I spent 3 hours learning how to code it from scratch. I couldn't understand XML and my HTML skill is pretty rusty, I gave up.

Then, I stumbled upon Template Designer and found that the template called Simple somehow matches my layout so I decided to cheat. I uploaded my layout background and header. That took almost an hour of resizing and altering. So, I finally did it! Yay!

That wasn't so bad (cause I cheated).

PS: I noticed that the navbar is pretty weird but I decided to leave it like that. I kinda like it.

Changed the navbar colour already.

Money and status

My friend once told me that it's all about status today. People will look at what house you live in, how many cars you have, what car do you drive and stuff. He told me that 4 months ago. Now, I'm still thinking about it.

Personally, I do believe that it is the reality of the present world. What he said is what's happening today.

Isn't that sad? People look at you based on your possession. It's like your possessions determines your status and class, not your personality.

Why is it happening?

Why people tend to look at price tags now?

Well, it's kinda stupid, you know. To allow your stuff to overshadow you and to let people judge you with what you own instead of who you are. I had to admit, owning nice things is well... nice. It's nice to have lots of money because we don't have to worry about how to pay our bills, our education, healthcare, food and stuff. But having it dictate your life and define you, that's just sad. It's like saying, "Hi, I am nothing without my money. Without it, I'd just be some worthless dude." Money and worldly possessions aren't everything. In the end, what defines you is just... you.

Alhamdulillah and new beginning

I just got my results. To be frank, I did badly. Really badly.

But, look at the bright side. I passed. I freaking passed. My whole CGPA is more than enough to get me into LLB. I can hope now. Alhamdulillah, I did it. In fact, we did it. All of us final year students who will be graduating. Guys, we did it!!! We're graduating!!!!!!!!

Now, I'm hoping for the best to get into LLB.

Thank you for the support, guys, I really appreciate it. And, congratulations to all.

To all final year students....

WE ARE GRADUATING !!!!!!!!!!!!

Pre exam result stress

Feeling: Nervous
Listening to: Above & Beyond presenting Oceanlab: If I Could Fly

Results will be out tomorrow. All of my friends and other students from UiTM are nervous about it. I hope that all of us do well, especially the final year students (law especially). My past results aren't really stellar but they're okay. I just want to pull the grade that enables to be accepted to LLB Hons program. But then again, I shouldn't worry so much about the past. I just have to acknowledge it and let it go. Just embrace the present and look forward to the future. I just have to be confident and have faith that I pass (Insya Allah). Well, I survived the last 7 sems right? Surely (Insya Allah), I'll survive the 8th (and final) semester.

Yes, I'm worried. Worried that I might fail a paper and simultaneously ruin my chance to get to LLB this March. I really want LLB so badly this March. It must be this March. I don't want to postpone or prolong anything anymore. I mean, taking a one-year extension for BLS is enough. Not that I regret at the extension. I like it actually. I'm more flexible and have more time for myself. Plus, I don't get all stressed out. I made some new friends (and a new annoying classmate) and found a new way to remain in touch with my old ones. Most importantly, my grades improve. Looks like I perform better with less subjects.

I used to rush in things. Rushing to grow up so I can have more freedom. Rushing to finish school so I can go to uni. Yes, my goal when I was in school was to get out and go to uni. Rushing to finish uni so I can work and earn more money. As I get older (and maybe a little bit wiser), I realized that I just have to finish everything in my own pace. Who cares if some child genius prodigy managed to enter Oxford Uni at the age of 14? Who cares if some genius child prodigy managed to solve an Add Math problem when he's only 6 years old? Who cares! They ain't living your life. They don't really play a substantive role in your life. Why measure yourself according to them? Life's short but that doesn't give us a good reason to rush life. We just have to use all the time we have to live our life with our family and friends, have a good career and stuff. Just go with the flow. But, don't go too slow. You might every opportunities that come your way. No same opportunities come twice. Well, they sometimes do but it just won't feel the same. But that also doesn't mean that one is better than the other. They're different and special in their own (twisted) way.

In conclusion (essay much?), I would like to wish all my UiTM friends all the best in their exam result ;)

This video might be inspirational I hope (contains profanity).

Nice Peter: A short little song about love

Now, for a short little song about love by Nice Peter.

It's not hard to be in love
For me anymore
It's as easy as an egg
Falling on the floor
You won't ever have to drive
I'll get us there
Just promise me you won't cry
When I lose my hair

I'll probably meet you as a friend
And I won't see the change
But, all of the sudden
We'll both feel something strange
You can ask me if it hurts
I'll tell you no
Just promise me you won't leave
When I'm getting older
You will be getting older too
And I'll still be there for you

With or without the hair
Just be you.

Many thanks tomasterofvlogging for posting the lyrics of this song in the comment box of the video.

PS: I'm not in love. Maybe I am. If the guy's on the video counts (or Jeremy Lin). Just kidding! But seriously. Nope, not lin love. I mean, in love. Wait! I'm not in love okay!

[Spotlight] Jeremy Lin

There has been a lot attention towards this one basketball player by the name of Jeremy Lin.

This 24-year-old New York Knicks player was born in Los Angeles, California and was raised in San Francisco Bay Area in the city of Palo Alto. After receiving no athletic scholarship out of high school and being undrafted out of college, he received a partially guaranteed deal with Golden State Warriors. Word of the day: #ABUDEN????

#ABUDEN derives from the phrase "Ah, but then?" which is the Malaysian equivalent of Duh and D'oh.

Here are the situations where #ABUDEN is used:

Special guest appearance by Wes and Philip from Wong Fu Production.

[Spotlight] George Watsky

Oh hai
It's that guy
Built so fly in a silk bow tie
Don't know why
He built so fly
But he is no lie
Oh my

Witness this video that went viral:

How did he do that? Practice or just plain natural?

He was the 2006 Youth Speaks Grand Slam Poetry Champion, 2006 Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam Champion, and performed in a record six consecutive Youth Speaks Grand Slam Finals. Beza orang fikiran sempit dan orang fikiran luas

Wow! I sure do learn my lesson not comment on Blog Serius anymore.

Why?

#1 You have different perspective in religion, you are automatically kafir.

#2 Anons will say that your private parts stinks (sickos!)

#3 They kafirkan you without you yourself kafirkan yourself. Wow! Pseudo fortune teller.

#4 Emotion. Drama. Emotion. Drama. Need I say more?

#5 Besides religion, if you have different opinions, you'll get insulted/banged/degraded/threatened

#6 You'll be more driven to the brink of insanity, suicide and stuff.

#7 Amboi, Minat K-Pop pun salah! Takde modal nak kutuk aku, kutuk pasal K-Pop lah ye. Takpelah. Korang baru tau yang aku ni dah tak layan K-Pop sangat.

#8 Boy, I miss LJ where people discuss matters academically.

A Maulidur Rasul entry

Yesterday was the 12th Rabiulawal 1433. You guys know what that means?

That's right! Prophet Muhammad PBUH (Peace Be Upon Him) was born.

Normally, in here we celebrate by conducting a procession while praying and making selawats for the Prophet (PBUH). Well, at least that's what schools and workplaces are conducting. It is a holiday after all.

Personally, instead of procession, why don't we remind each other to do good deeds to mankind? I'm sure the Prophet (PBUH) would be happy for us. Plus, no good deeds go unrewarded if you know what I mean.

Actually, good deeds can be done everyday regardless of holiday or no holiday. It can be something a simple as throwing a trash in the trash can or something else such as studying, do chores and the like.

Title : One Day
Artist: Matisyahu

What would you say to the Prophet (PBUH) if you get to sit with him for one minute?

Other than assalamualaikum, what comes next is really difficult. I might cry like the girl in the video because it is the Prophet (PBUH) we're talking about. It's every Muslims' dream to be with him. I think not only it's overwhelming thinking about it but it's actually pretty cool. Of course, I have to choose my words carefully. Being rude and explicit is a big no-no. Seriously, I don't know what to say other than giving salam to him. I might cry. Well, I almost cried watching that video which I muted it knowing that if I turned up the volume, I would cry more than I cried during the time Elphaba sang Defying Gravity in the Wicked the Musical.

To end this entry, I would like to wish Happy holidays and Happy Maulidur Rasul to all ^_^

Love

Love is a psychosis trigger
It makes you go crazier
And crazier each day
It's an addictive poison
That makes you crave more and more
Until it's all that you think about

Love makes your heartbeat faster
Your blood pressure higher
It makes you feel that
You're running in a marathon
That never seems to end
Yikes!

Love makes you hate
It makes you berate
Yourself for being so foolish enough
To get involved in this vicious cycle
Of courtship, partnership and heartbreaks
Again and again

Love is damn mean
Leaves you messes to clean
Up because everybody tends to play it dirty
By toying with each other hearts and souls
Making us feel like it's a battle between the humans and the demons
In some alternate reality fantasy game

That my friend is lust
Nothing but just
Feelings of sexual excitement due to
Intimacy between two or more individuals
With feelings of so-called love and passion
Which is actually an illusion of the bored lonely mind

Love is confusing
You keep thinking
And thinking until your mind went through
A blackout causing you to feel numb
And eventually surrender to a demon
Called love.

This is my take on love. I had to admit, some parts (or all) are kinds dodgy and messy. I apologize for that. I'm currently experimenting here. Hope to post more poems soon.

By the way.....

This guy inspires me to write the poem. His name is George Watsky.

I will upload an entry about him soon, so stay tuned ;)

A jolt

I was browsing Facebook and stumbled upon one of my friends' status that made me almost want to cry. Cry out of realization.

We always plan things. When things don't go as we planned it to be, we tend to curse and get pissed off. We sometimes tend to get mad at God on why things screw up. Sometimes, we tend to lose hope and give up on life.

When reading that status, I realized that everything happens for a reason. God has reasons why things happen they way they are.

Musing of the mind

What I hate about being neutral is that...

I tend to hear both side of the story and opinion.
And, I tend to agree with both of them and when there are some screw-ups, I tend to believe that both parties are at fault.

So....

Am I a hypocrite and a double agent?
