I watched this video called How to Write a Hipster Rock Anthem by BuzzFeed. It is sooo hilarious and catchy that I decided to make a list on how to make a hipster music video.
Below is the said music video, folks.
So on to the how-tos...
Step 1: Get scruffy/not-so good looking but still decent looking dudes
Hipsters take pride in their looks in a way that they give an impression that they don't (what?). Hence the scruffy/I-don't-take-care-of-my-appearance appearance.
I don't know what to write about girls. Any ideas?
Step 2: Location, location, location
To have a perfect hipster music video, location plays an important part. All time favourite hipster location would be: the garden, the attic, an empty room with musical instruments and stuff, a normal music video set which normally don't have anything but instruments, a run-down place and some random place that don't make sense.
Step 3: Filters
Most hipster music videos have filter like you're taking a picture using a lomo camera. It's like those Instagram photo effects. It is to give a retro/vintage feel to the video.
Step 4: Look really stoned, bored and zombified
Notice how the people in hipster music videos look? Yes! They either look bored, stoned or zombified (or even hypnotized). You can choose to make them stand or sit. And sing like you're super tired like you're about to faint.
Step 3: Props
Have something vintage such as vinyl record players, old telephones, lomo cameras or you guys can go totally steampunk (minus the class).
Step 4: Have san serif fonts
If you wanna add texts to the music video, be sure to use sans serif. Hispters are (sometimes) minimalists after all(?)
Step 5: Outfits
Make sure you dress your actors up in vintage clothes or clothes that look like they come from the thrift shop or Urban Outfitters. Oh, and Converse really suit the whole hipsteresque concept. Bonus point: Stain/tie-dye the outfits.
Step 6: Do random movements
Get your actors to do random movements such as run around, laugh or dance like they're high on drugs (even though they're not).
Step 7: Make sure the singers do weird moves
Get the lead singer to do weird movements while singing but make sure it suits the beat of the song.
So, there you have it. 7 easy steps to make your very own hipster music video. If you guys have any hipster music video of your own to show me, you guys can post your links on the comment below. Have a nice day.
Cheers!
These are all jokes, not reality.

My top 10 favourite love songs
I'm feeling extra jiwang tonight, which is rare because I rarely show my jiwang-ness.
In case some of you don't know, jiwang is a Malay slang for sentimental.
Since I'm feeling jiwang/sentimental, I'm going to list down my top 10 favourite love songs (Youtube videos included) that I would like to include in our (me and my future husband who currently remains a mystery for me to solve) love song CD mix.
#10 Irony by Seriously
I've been a fan of Seriously since 2009. With their catchy beat and light hearted lyrics, what's not to like about this track?
#9 Baby It's Fact by Hellogoodbye
Baby, it's fact. All of it's true. They way black is black and blue which is blue. My love is true, it's a matter of fact. Oh and you love me too. It's as simple as that. Baby, our love is true.
#8 Tonight I Know by Chester See
This song describes how I feel every time I have a crush/fall in love with someone, except for the 'Tonight I Know' part.
#7 Valentine by Kina Grannis
To be honest, Valentine's Day is non-existent in my calendar but this sing is just so sweet :)
#6 I Won't Give Up Until You're Safe and Sound by Ryan Narciso
This is a mash up of Jason Mraz's I Won't Give Up and Taylor Swift's Safe and Sound. They actually go together.
#5 In Your Arms by Kina Grannis
#4 A Short Little Song About Love by Nice Peter
This is a short and sweet song about love.
#3 All My Love by Cameron Mitchell
This is an original song by Cameron Mitchell from the Glee Project. What I like about this song is that it makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
#2 This is a Way by David Choi
#1 You're a Gift by Dante Give Me Motion
I can listen to this song for a million times and can still melt. Seriously.

[Spotlight] Lindsey Stirling
Meet Lindsey Stirling everybody!

Or Hip Hop Violinist as they call her on America's Got Talent!!!!
I'm so excited for this Spotlight entry now. Why? Because this is the first spotlight entry ever that features a girl I realized that I've always write spotlights on dudes. Not that I don't like it, it's just I feel that it's about time I feature a girl
Well, on to Lindsey then.
She is a violinist, composer, performance artist, dancer and musician from Utah. She was born in Orange County, California but stayed in Utah. She was first interested in classical music records played by her father when she was 5 years old. Due to that, she requested the opportunity to learn and play the violin.
She was classically trained through private lessons for 16 years. She joined a rock band called Stomp on Melvin with four friends. As part of her experience with Stomp on Melvin, she wrote a solo violin song. Her performance helped her to win both title of Arizona's Jr. Miss in 2005 and the talent category of the National Jr. Miss Pageant.
Shortly after her performance in America's Got in 2010 (which she was a quarter finalist), cinematographer Devin Graham contacted her through Facebook to make a music video together. She replied a few months later and they scheduled to shoot her first music video for her song, Spontaneous Me. The video gave a major boost to Lindsey's popularity and she began to make music videos for her Youtube channel. Both Lindsey and Devin began dating after the release of her second music video, Transcendence. They've been together ever since and frequently collaborated with each other in making Youtube videos.
She always experimented in combining violin with hip-hop, dubstep and shuffling. She also has collaborated with other Youtubers such as Peter Hollens, Megan Nicole, Eppic, Jake Bruene and Frank Sacramone.
If you guys are into classical music with a modern twist, Lindsey Stirling is for you. And, if you like cute quirky girls doing what they do best, then she is definitely for you as well. I was interested in her when she collaborated with Megan Nicole to cover Starships by Nicki Minaj and I was hooked on her ever since. I just couldn't get enough of her talent and quirkiness (and the hair). She's not like those boring type of classical musicians who would just stand or sit down while playing their instruments. She actually dances and experiments in different genres to keep people entertained.
Here are some of her videos:
Spontaneous Me
Electric Daisy Violin
Dubstep Violin - Crystallize
River Flows in You by Yiruma

Nice Peter: A short little song about love
Now, for a short little song about love by Nice Peter.
It's not hard to be in love
For me anymore
It's as easy as an egg
Falling on the floor
You won't ever have to drive
I'll get us there
Just promise me you won't cry
When I lose my hair
I'll probably meet you as a friend
And I won't see the change
But, all of the sudden
We'll both feel something strange
You can ask me if it hurts
I'll tell you no
Just promise me you won't leave
When I'm getting older
You will be getting older too
And I'll still be there for you
With or without the hair
Just be you.
Many thanks tomasterofvlogging for posting the lyrics of this song in the comment box of the video.
PS: I'm not in love. Maybe I am. If the guy's on the video counts (or Jeremy Lin). Just kidding! But seriously. Nope, not lin love. I mean, in love. Wait! I'm not in love okay!

Oh hai
It's that guy
Built so fly in a silk bow tie
Don't know why
He built so fly
But he is no lie
Oh my
Witness this video that went viral:
How did he do that? Practice or just plain natural?

This song is dedicated to all girls
Song: Tong Hua (Fairy Tale)
Artist: Michael Wong
Performed by Terry He
Produced & arranged by Aaron Tsang
LYRICS:
Verse 1:
Like any story worth telling, this one's about a girl too
But not just any one girl, I'm talking to all of you
Who stopped believing that fairytales are, in fact, true
Forgot the truth that love is all we need to get through
I'm talking to the girl with the shattered heart
Broken so many times, now her mind seems dark
The one who says that fairytales are for kids
But really she's afraid to love 'cause she's afraid to give
And the girl who moved on to the next 'cause she says
There's no way her Prince Charming would've said what he had
Made her cry, now she thinks that he's just like the rest
But every night (knight) that passes by ain't the same 'cause her ex was the best
Now hear what I gotta say,
Trust me, your knight is on his way, he'll be here any day
We don't all wear armour but we shine in different ways
And I speak on behalf of all of us when I say-
Chorus
Verse 2:
And I understand how hard it must be
To believe after all the pain that we've seen
But it seems to me like fear is the enemy
You can't love me anymore 'cause now you're scared to dream
If only you could see that all of your dreams
Ain't nearly as far away as they first seemed
Then maybe you could reach out and grab them back
Just like that, we could turn the time back to what we had
It's a hard path and yeah, we gon have to fight
But every story has to have its low point, right?
When all hope is lost and she can't find the light
And she's almost given up the fight...
But then the hero does something unexpected and crazy
Flips it all around and her 'no' becomes a 'maybe...'
Gets on his white horse to save his damsel in distress
After the kiss, her 'maybe' becomes a definite 'yes'. ♥
Chorus x2

[Spotlight] Victor Kim/King
I think this is going to be the shortest Spotlight entry in the history of Doo Joon-I-Tis and Chobits Chii. Basically, Spotlight is a section of my blog where I introduce you guys (or re-introduce) to musicians, dancers and media personalities.
Today, the lucky personality is....
::drumroll::

Victor Kim aka Victor King!!!! Woot woot!!!!
Victor was born in Sacramento, California. He is a graduate from University of California Irvine holding a Bachelors of Arts in Economics. Victor is most commonly known as one of the dancers in the group which won MTV America's Best Dance Crew (ABDC) season 3, Quest Crew.
Not only he's a dancer. He's also a musician and artist. He also had some collaborations with popular names like Nigahiga, Kevjumba, Cathy Nguyen and Chester See.
So, here are some videos:
This happens to be his latest video with Andy Lange performing Adele's Someone Like You
This clip was featured in Nigahiga's Best Dance Crew video
This was his entry to Just Dance Game contest. I really like this video and find it really cute despite him wearing crazy shorts and crazy wig.'
This is the first video of him that I've watched featuring Cathy Nguyen performing Kina Grannis' Valentine.
So there you have it. Victor Kim aka Victor King.

Charlie McDonnell : Doctor What
Lyrics courtesy of Lyrics Mode
My girlfriend thinks that I'm a nutter,
My parents say that I'm an utter fool,
For wasting my time on this.
But I'm not chasing my imagination,
I just can't help avoid my fixation,
Cos I know that he really exists.
But if you look through time then you will find,
So many artefacts have been signed with clues,
All pointing his way.
And though he may have different faces,
I think it's him in all the cases,
The man is an enigma,
Who knows where he is today.
Just have a look at what I've found and see,
Am I going crazy or is he following me,
You can find his legacy sketched throughout,
Though the history books always tend to leave him out.
He's called the Doctor
But Doctor What?
I think he's a Martian though I know that that's a long shot
Doctor
But Doctor When?
I'll check back to prehistoric times and there he is again
Well that's the Doctor
But Doctor How?
He saves the planet all the time but never stops to bow
Oh mister Doctor
But Doctor Who?
And most importantly Doctor, how can I find you?
He takes danger with him everywhere he goes
So if he does show up then we'll know
That something's not right
But I just can't help but think that I
Would make a good companion by his side
I'm pretty bright, always polite, oh Doctor take me up tonight.
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/charlie_mcdonnell/doctor_what.html ]
I know that I should get a grip
But I need to see inside his ship
And have him take me everywhere he gone.
Or at least I'd like to meet the guy
To shake his hand and say goodbye
And thank him for all he's done
You can't deny aliens must be real
Well is it that hard to believe that some might be revealed to look like us
Well I know it's just all speculation but I feel I must
Try to trust in what I feel
He's called the Doctor
But Doctor What?
I think he's a Martian though I know that that's a long shot
Doctor
But Doctor When?
I'll check back to prehistoric times and there he is again
Well that's the Doctor
But Doctor How?
He saves the planet all the time but never stops to bow
Oh mister Doctor
But Doctor Who?
And most importantly Doctor, how can I find you?
I know to you I must look like some kind of Neanderthal
While you' re a flying cosmic genius and know-it-all
I'm just an insect, there's nothing I can do.
How could I expect that would ever meet you Doctor!
But Doctor What?
I think he's a Martian though I know that that's a long shot
Doctor
But Doctor When?
I'll check back to prehistoric times and there he is again
Well that's the Doctor
But Doctor How?
He saves the planet all the time but never stops to bow
Oh mister Doctor
But Doctor Who?
And most importantly Doctor, how can I find you?
